My very first pair of cycling shoes were Pearl Izumi. I tried them on at the cycling shop and they seemed tight, but figured thats how they made them. Those were a size 38. They hurt so bad while cycling, my toes went numb, the arch of my foot cramped- I was not a happy camper. Over the years I tried different brands in size 39 and they were so much better. This year it was time for new shoes and I love the way these look (always looking for something with a splash of color) so I went big and got the size 40. Perfect!! I like the velcro closures too, better than laces (at least to me). So glad I purchased these shoes!

The shoes are great, but be sure to go up a size, September 11, 2014

The shoes are great, but be sure to go up a size. If you choose the ‘correct’ size as per the chart then you will end up with sore feet. Great cycling shoe – being used on a road bike with shimano (a-600 model, I believe) spd pedals and they work beautifully. Walking in them is like wearing tennis shoes or cross trainers. For a non-racer that rides their bike a good distance I highly recommend these shoes.

I love them, they are very comfortable. I haven’t had the opportunity to try out the clipless system, since I don’t have the pedals on my bike, but plan to purchase them shortly. They are a very well made shoe & I am happy with my purchase.
