Perfect day pack!, July 13, 2016
    By

I got this pack for dayhiking. In short, it’s perfect.

It’s got a ton of compartments – the main one is roomy enough to fit a DSLR, some food, some spare layers. I love the middle stretch pocket, which is great for storing a thin jacket with quick access. The side stretch mesh pockets can carry a bottle of water each. The front stretch mesh pocket is good for holding maps, snacks, your trash bag. And the front and top zippered pockets are great for extra organization. The bottom compartment is useful for storing random tools (I don’t do any cycling so I stuff some extra camera gear in there). I also got a raincover since this didn’t come with one and leave it in there as well. I love the hipbelt pockets. They can carry bars, small tools, your chapstick, maybe even a smaller phone. Even empty, I much prefer having these over some of the other packs which just have a thin strap, which is not comfortable around the hip.

The hydration sleeve is great-it’s external and easy to access. I like that the zipper runs down the strap to keep the tube in place. The reservoir itself is amazing. This is the 2016 version from Hydrapak that has the ziplock-like seal on top. It’s much easier to fill and clean than my camelbak. It also doesn’t bulge into my back due to the flat panel on the reservoir. There’s no quick connect on the tube, but I bought one and attached it myself-really handy to removing the reservoir to refill. The drinking nozzle is standard osprey-easy to use and doesn’t leak. The material on the reservoir seems thin though, so hopefully it lasts a long time.

The pack is very lightweight. The straps are comfortable. The quality of the build seems like typical Osprey-very high. It is kinda expensive full price for how small it is so see if you can catch it on sale. I found mine for around 100 bucks. It’s the perfect day pack!

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
Got it as a gift for my husband and he loves this backpack. He uses it to commute to work. He says it’s a lot lighter than the other osprey backpacks and still fits quite a bit of stuff. The tool roll out is really neat. Just got it a week ago and so far so good!
