Nice light but the battery tests in at only 3200mAh not 9600mAh, February 14, 2016

While the light uses Cree XLamp XM-L LEDs that could deliver 1000 lumens each or (9000 lumens in total) these are massively under driven and the light draws a maximum of 2.3 Amps at 8.4 Volts or 19.32 watts on high. With this style Reflector the Cree Xlamps should be right at about 100 Lumens per watt so this light produces about 1,932 Lumens. While this light may seem massively bright to some it’s not even as bright as my 2,400 Lumen Magic Shine lights. I tested this light on a programmable power supply and the maximum wattage the lights will draw at 8.4 Volts is 2.3 Amps and 19.32 Watts.

Advertised as having a 8.4V 9600mah battery but the battery only tested at 3,100mAh on a discharge test and 3,221mAh on recharge. Overall the light is good for the price but the battery is garbage and the light is way under driven for 9 Cree XLamp XM-L LEDs.

The other problem is that it only has two brightness levels and the strobe. High and medium. The light really needs a low and very low as you won’t get 3 hours of light on medium. Many times I find myself in situations where I drop my lights to the lowest setting for 10-70 hours of run time depending on the bike light I use. This light will only last about 1:25 minutes on high and under 3 hours on medium so if you ever go on long rides or you get stranded with a flat or have to walk back the light won’t last the entire trip. I do like the light spill and color temperature. It’s a perfect pure “white” with no hint of green or blue and seems about 5,500 Kelvin.

The Build quality of the light is pretty good minus the terrible capacity battery. Someone might say I received a bad battery but that’s not true I’ve tested and built 100’s of Li-ion cell packs over the years. I would have given this 4 stars if it had 3-4 brightness modes and a better battery. 5 stars if if they drove the Cree XM-L LED’s to even half of their rated output. I revived this item at a discounted price for an honest review.

Works great for bicycle light but has great uses inside the house as well, March 4, 2016

A free sample of this light was provided for test and review purposes.

When I initially accepted this light, my thought was to use it on my bike. It works great for that purpose but though many months of the year, I don’t go out riding before the sun rises or after it sets. My husband saw the light and had some other ideas about how to use it during those months.

One of the ways my husband organizes and stores some of our stuff is by using those configurable chrome storage shelves that you can buy on Amazon or most big box warehouse stores. We keep it all in packed in a “storage” room in our house (i.e., an unused bedroom now that we are empty-nesters.) There is not a lot of light in the room and we sometimes struggle to see what is on the shelves or in the boxes. His idea was that we could use this bright light when we are looking through boxes instead of holding a flash light in one hand.

This light easily attaches to the bars of a shelf and can be positioned at any height or position. I usually position the light on one shelf bar so that I can look into a box on a different shelving unit. Alternatively I place the light on a higher shelf and point it downward to look inside a specific box. This is especially useful for heavy boxes that I do not want to move off the shelf.

I can also simply carry the light around with me. I simply put the battery in a pocket and hold the light to in my hand to help find the storage box I am looking for.

The light is very bright and provides enough hands-free light that I do not need to carry a lamp or extra flashlight while digging through storage.

Great cycling gloves for fall, not so great for winter, January 20, 2016
    By

    Verified Purchase(What’s this?)
I agree with other reviews that these gloves are not meant for winter riding. I rode with these gloves last night when the weather was 18 deg F (3 deg F with wind chill) and my hands were cold. They do block the wind but there just insn’t enough insulation in these gloves to provide warmth. From the pictures, the gloves appear to be thick but they’re actually of light/medium thickness.

Pros: Touchscreen functionality works great. The palm padding also feels good. Excellent grip on the handlebars.

Cons: Too thin for winter riding below freezing. The top part of the glove is maybe waterproof, but the palm side is definitely not, since it’s made out of some synthetic leather material.

Overall I liked the gloves enough to keep them for the fall weather or other times when the weather is between 40 to 60 deg F.

Order a size larger and they will fit like a glove…, February 22, 2016

Customer Video Review Length:: 3:09 Mins

I’m a fussy biker and like my gloves to fit like, well, a glove! These gloves fit the bill. With the weather we have in the Pacific Northwest, temperatures in the 40s and 50s Fahrenheit during the winter, these gloves are just perfect. I love the non-skid on the palm and three fingers, and I Really Love the touch-screen feature on the first finger and thumb of each hand. If you look closely, there are strain relief areas in the palm and for the thumb, and padding to make those long hours on your bike less uncomfortable. Easy to get on, easy to get off, this is really a great pair of gloves. I will say that you should definitely order a size larger than your normal size, because the glove sizes run small. Order a medium for small hands, large for medium hands, and extra-large for large hands. Your hands will thank you for it. I’m glad the 4ucycling folks sent me a pair for review, because these are now one of my favorite gloves. Really, really like the touch screen feature. Great set of biking gloves. Thumbs up.

Way Too Small & Padding Ineffective, January 10, 2016
    By

I typically take a large or extra large glove (XL in Pearl Izumi gloves) but the XXL of these gloves, the largest they offer, were too short in the fingers. The padding on these gloves don’t really help if you’re using drop bars. The inner liner of these gloves will pull out when you take your hand out so you have to be careful of that. They do, however, keep your hands quite warm. I’m giving them to my kid.
