Pearl Izumi Men’s Elite RD IV W/B Cycling Shoe, White/Black, 46 EU/11.5 C US
@ Step up your game in the Pearl Izumi Men’s Elite RD IV Shoes. Weighing in at a claimed 265g, these shoes are a few grams heavier than Pearl’s top-end P. R. O. Leader III but come with a significantly reduced price tag. With a stiff carbon sole and comfortable upper, they strike an ideal balance for races and long training rides alike. Pearl fashions the Elite RD IV with a fully bonded upper featuring a seamless interior that conforms to your foot while reducing pressure points and hot spots. The shoe fastens with a bi-directional, micro-adjustable Boa reel across the top, and its wide anchor points evenly distribute pressure across the upper. This particular type of Boa closure pulls the wire with equal tension on each side of the shoe, uniformly tightening the cable instead of pulling excessively from one side. A hook-and-loop strap spans the forefoot for additional adjustability and customization of fit. Underfoot, Pearl’s ELITE 1:1 Power Plate sole incorporates stiff, unidirectional
- Fully bonded upper eliminates uncomfortable seams and hotspots. Integrated BOA lace guides allows for an extremely low profile upper that excellent pressure distribution
- Bi-Directional closure: delivers a semi-custom fit by gathering equally from both sides for even foot retention, with the precision of a micro-adjustable BOA reel
- Elite 1:1 power plate: elite grade uni-directional carbon for ultra-light stiffness; direct-vent technology for cooling and drainage; concave shaping for ultra low 7.0mm stack height
- Enhanced plate stiffness and anatomic support; and built in longitudinal arch support for optimal power and efficiency

Super stiff and very light road bike shoe.,
* If you have Normal to a little Wide feet and maybe E width. You can get a full size up for it to work, but it might cause hot spot on the left and right side of your feet where the balls of your feet is at.
* If you have a EE+ wide feet. Best to look at another shoe.
I normally wear a size 7 in most shoes with a width of between E and EE. The 40.5 fits perfectly length wise but it was tight. The 41 length is manageable for me but a little long. Width wise it’s still tight and I don’t crank it down, only for it to be slightly snug. The sole is super stiff and light, something I was looking for in a road shoe.
I haven’t had the chance to use it yet but I have walked around in the house with it without the cleats attached. I got it for a good price so it’s kinda hard return it knowing the full retail of the shoe to how much I got it for. But so far so good.
