This review is from: Merrell Men’s Roust Frenzy Commuter Biking Shoe (Shoes)
These fit a little snug, more on the side of indoor-soccer-shoe, but certainly not rock-climbing-shoe tight. I enjoyed the fit, and there’s room in the toe box to wiggle around a bit. The arch fits me well, not perfectly, and I’m able to walk around all day without fatigue. For context, an arch in an Adidas Samba or a Chaco sandal are too high for me.
The styling is great. Really nice, low profile. The unique construction of the heel and tongue are a nice, understated touches that adds to the style and fit, but that a passerby won’t notice. I like the dark-grey/black colors with the reflective ‘M’ on the outside heel. The lace closure is really good, and keeps tight. The sole, which I initially thought wouldn’t hold up to days of walking on pavement, has shown minimal wear after a month of heavy use. I’m looking forward to biking with them in a few months, as the weather turns nicer in Michigan; the flat, tread-free sole seems like it will hold well to bike pedals.
One quirk: the tip of the toe box is kept slightly rigid with a material that feels similar to stiff cardboard. That’s generally not a problem, except for that I dented it within the first week of wear and have been unable to return the material to its original form. I dented it somewhat off-center, so I don’t notice it. I can imagine that if it was dented closer to the center of the toe box that it could irritate the wearer’s toes. Luckily, this is not the case for me.
Overall, comfy, stylish, good-value shoe for around town.

These shoes are remarkably light, comfortable and I like the look. Awesome to walk in. Great on easy bike rides with flat MTB type pedals. I think for rough trails a sturdier shoe like 510 Freeriders may be more appropriate.

Like them but not as comfortable as I was expecting, being a Merrell fan already. A tad restricting in the forefoot.
