Ibera case mounts perfectly and fits my phone in its own Speck case, February 11, 2013

This review is from: Ibera Bicycle iPhone 5 Smartphone Handlebar Case (Sports)
Five stars for this product for the cost, ease of use, and functionality based on intended purpose. The mount ends up using minimal space on the handlebars thanks to the stem attachment. Multiple angle adjustment let me set it up just right. And as a bonus, I thought I might have to take my iP5 out of the Speck case I normally have it in for riding use but to my surprise, it fits perfectly. There is a felt backing board in the Ibera bag that can be removed also, if you need to fit in a phone with a thicker protective cover than the Speck.

One caveat though for people who listen to music on the phone while riding: I had to modify the case at the bottom opening to allow my headphones to plug into the phone while mounted in the Ibera. Not really a big deal and the case isn’t really compromised. I used a set of cuticle manicure snippers to cut out a small half circle piece of the case, allowing the headphone jack free access to the port. It’s an easy solution for an otherwise perfectly designed product. Not enough of a hassle to deduct a star from this affordable, usable product.

Practical, but with a big iPhone 5 flaw, February 23, 2013

The Ibera bike mount was easy to install, feels very secure and the price was right. The problem is when riding with headphones, the only iPhone fit means using it in landscape format or placing the phone upside down. Since very few fitness apps flip the numbers around or accomodate landscape mode, I end up riding with the numbers displayed sideways.
