Pearl Izumi - Ride Men's Race RD III Cycling Shoe,Black/Black,43 EU/9.3 D US
@ Drawing inspiration from their top-tier P. R. O. Leader Shoes, Pearl Izumi’s engineers looked at how they could create an advanced shoe that possessed its same fit and many of the exact technical features, but at a more reasonable price point. The result is the new Race RD III Men’s Shoes, which rely on a sleek closure system, stiff composite sole, and Longitudinal Arch Support for a complete package that provides the all-day comfort and efficient power transfer you demand from your road shoes. The first thing you’ll notice about the Race RD III shoes is the centered closure dial at the top of the tongue. Called the Bi-directional Closure, this system was incorporated for several reasons. First, the top-mount allows riders to dial in a more precise fit than an outer foot mount, as the wiring draws both sides of the uppers together with more uniform tension. Also, by placing the BOA dial directly on top of the padded tongue, with wiring running through the top of the shoes’ uppers, it k

Shoe runs super small, I wear a size 10 in pretty much everything and the size 10 in this Pearl Izumi shoe felt like a 8.5.

I ended up ordering a 44, then 44.5, then 45, and 45.5. The 45.5 fit best which is equivalent to a size 11.5? According to their size chart.

JUST MAKE SURE TO ORDER AT LEAST A FULL SIZE BIGGER!!

Great looking shoe, love it, have not had a chance to clip up to the pedals but I will very soon.

I will post an update after I have ridden with them.

*Update, these shoes are absolutely awesome, Went for a 45 mile ride (without breaking them in before hand, first time wearing them) and I have no complaints, they are fantastic. They do scuff up very easily when walking on pavement etc. but I am sure that is typical for any clip-less shoe. I highly recommend these shoes to others, just make sure you order a FULL size or 1.5 sizes bigger!

My spin class instructor recommended I get some bike shoes to make the class easier. Thanks to the other reviewers I ordered my correct size. I wear between about an 8.5 wide in most shoes. I ordered the 41and it fit very well. At first I thought that it might be tight in the toe but then realized the shoe tongue was a little bunched up. After I straightened the tongue the fit was pretty much perfect. I bought the Shimano SM-SH52 SPD cleats and installed them easily with an allen wrench (watched a you tube about it to figure out the pointed end should face the toes). Made sure to tighten them well at the advice of another reviewer. It took a couple of tries to click in on the LA Fitness bike pedal…. just slide the pointed end into the pedal and sort of push forward and down on the pedal til you hear a click; then when you’re done….twist your ankle outward to unlock (watched a you tube about that process as well because it was my first time using cleats). I’ve done a couple classes with these shoes now and they do seem to make it easier because they are stiffer than tennis shoes and offer good support when you stand. I also love my Pearl Izumi gloves that I bought on Amazon because they cushion my hands so nicely during the classes and also on the other weight machines.

Bought these shoes and really liked them, but they were too small. I normally wear 7.5-8 and my foot is a little wide. Typically I wear a 38 or 39 in european sizing, however 39.5 was still small, even though I was able to get my foot in and barely close the velcro, my toe was up on the shoe end. Will return and probably try again with a 40 which should fit fine.

Great shoes, great fit, great seller, excellent performance in spin class! I wear a size 6 shoe, and i chose the size 6.8 in hopes that by sizing up they’d have some room in the toe area. I think they fit perfectly. You do need to separately purchase SPD cleats for these shoes, but it’s easy to install the cleats. Tighten the screws hard, because you dont want the cleat to work loose- i know from experience- i couldn’t unclip from the pedal!!
