This product can hold 2 bikes but you need better hardware than that provided. For a solid wall, like the one I mounted it on, I would suggest lead screw anchors. (http://www.amazon.com/Lead-Screw-Anchor-16-18-Pkg-100/dp/B003W8Z836/ref=sr_1_7?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1292348014&sr=1-7) You can find these at any local hardware in packages of 2-4 for $2. You will just need a drill to drill the hole and insert them. Hollow walls, I suggest finding the center of a stud, toggle wall anchors probably won’t hold 2 bikes in a hollow wall.
Once I used these, it mounted fine and is holding a heavy trek mountain bike and a somewhat lighter hybrid.

We keep a lot of bicycles in the basement and I prefer not to just lean them against each other. This rack was a decent solution. The instructions direct that the provided wood screws go through the mounting plate and into a stud in the wall. In our basement, this was not an option (the exterior walls are stone and the studs on the interior walls are inconveniently placed). The best location was in a chipboard wall, but there was no way I was going to rely on wood screws to hold two bicycles in chipboard. The mounting plate takes three 3/16″ screws or bolts, so I used three 3/16″ x 3″ long toggle bolts. Installation took about ten minutes, and now I have the two bicycles on the wall, with one of my old helmets on the little shelf.

As noted by others, the photograph on this listing is inaccurate — the shelf in real life is trapezoidal, not rectangular, and the bike-arms are covered in red rubber.
