Based on the first review I read I was inclined not to purchase this seat. But upon further reflection I am glad that I did purchase it. I figured if it was as bad as the review had stated I could just return it. The directions are not that good/clear but with a little common sense the job gets done. The seat & rack sit very well & install nicely on my 29″ road bike. The one strap open/closure that another reviewer stated is a pain, I find to be simple, one hand release (& I have “bad” hands from an accident so for my hands to be able to easily open/close this clasp with my disability, its fine). The strap was adjusted to my child the first use & stays that way, similar to a car seat strap that would need to be adjusted as the child grows, not each time the child is placed in the seat. The strap padding & seat cushion padding that comes with the seat is not all that good, so I use the Velcro ones from my child’s car seat to put on these while we ride to cushion the rubbing (if any) that might occur from the seat belt. My child has not complained about the seat cushion, but I might just add some extra padding any ways. The price for this seat is great! Especially that it comes with the supporting rack! Once you get the rack installed the seat just clamps on! So if you take a ride without a passenger just un-clamp & off you go! I’ve only had the seat a few weeks & was only able to use it about 5 times thus far, if anything changes I will update my review! The seat is safe & comfortable for my child who is 3 years old & ~ 38#.

HARNESS SYSTEMS TERRIBLE, September 11, 2014

Based on the price and the USA Safety Standard, I was excited to order this seat. However, though it is easy to install, the seat itself is not “kid friendly.” There is only one strap that snaps in the front, so the entire harness system runs on one adjustment. THIS IS A PAIN. Everytime you need to take your child out (or put them in), you have to adjust the entire harness system and if you have to put their helmet on before hand… forget it. You practically have to loosen the entire thing, slide the harness over their heads and then retighten the strap – which again, is one long piece. If you child is even slightly impatient, this process is not only time consuming and tedious, it gets down right dangerous trying to balance your bike and your child and get the darn strap tightened. Then, after five minutes of doing that, you have to get their helmets on!! Let me save you the aggrevation….PICK ANOTHER SEAT.
