Really awesome shorts.Highly recommend. I’ll be getting a 2nd pair without even trying any other brands.

I’m a ~30″ waste (150lbs- 5’10”) and got the medium size. They fit perfectly and aren’t too long or snug anywhere. There’s also a built-in elastic wasteband that can be adjusted on both left and right sided with velcro to get the perfect waste fit if needed. Both lightweight and comfortable. Expensive, but they come with the padded liners which are ~$40 on their own and are really great as well. They aren’t bulky liners and padding is sufficient for long rides. Pretty great value, actually.

Oh, and they look good if you’re worried about that. I got the “shadow” gray and their true to the image provided. I might even use these without the liner for backpacking/hiking.

Been wearing and buying these ZOIC Ether Shorts for years. Bought my latest pair here from Amazon. They are very durable and great for biking, river rafting, swimming, hiking, and casual wear! The Compression Liner with Padded Seat section is great! The way that the liners connect via tiny fabric loops and stips w/ snaps to the shorts at the lateral points of the hips are very handy to keep things together. There are plenty of pockets with zippers and two normal non-zippered pockets that are plenty deep for items w/o worrying they will fall out during normal riding and wear. The only problems I have ever had with these shorts were with my first pair. These suffered a loss of the loops of the velcro half of the waist closure directly over the snap! Once this occurred the snap kept popping open. This same pair also had one of the zippers malfunction. They were replaced by the store where I bought them without any hesitation. I now have several of these in Black and one in the Tan color. I prefer the Black, as it doesn’t show dirt, abrasion nor wear as the Tan can. Highly Recommended.

I’ve been using Fox Ranger shorts and was curious about how these would compare. I think the Zoic Ether’s outer short is actually a bit more comfortable and streamlined for riding. The stretchiness of the outer shorts is a definite +. These shorts seem to be sturdy as well. I’ve been using the outer short with a pair of Garneau lycra shorts, so I can’t really offer a critique of the liner that comes with these shorts. Overall, a very nice product design. Plenty of pockets, and there are lots of attractive color choices.

This review is from: Bicycling Magazine’s Bicycle Commuting Made Easy (Paperback)
The book is comprised of articles from different authors making up each chapter. Each is well written and offers good advice on bicycle communiting and making things work for the practical rider. I especially liked the first chapter that followed a log of an editor that commuted by bicycle for a month with the trials and tribulations of the experience. This is a good book and worthwhile to anyone considering bicycle commuting.
